Dear Parents
Examination Fees
The fees for the external examinations for students in Years 11, 12 and 13 will be due soon. The fee this year is $75 per student and will need to be paid to the school by the end of August. A separate letter will be sent out next term, but this is preliminary information.
Parent Interviews
On Thursday 30 July, we will be hosting the mid year parent interview sessions for 2009. Please complete the form on the back of this newsletter and return it to school by Tuesday 21st July. Confirmation slips will be sent to you either Monday 27th or Tuesday 28th July.
Year 12 and 13 Students and Parents
The following MIT Experience Days are taking place in July and August:

Communication & Marketing - Friday 7 August
Early Childhood - Monday 10 August
Nursing for Males - Thursday 13 August
Nursing for Maori - 18 or 19 August (tbc)
If you are interested in any of these days and would like to attend, then please contact Tessa Ritchie at School. These are limited number sessions and only students with a genuine interest should attend. Closing dates for registration are from the 23rd of July.
Onewhero Community Library
From Term 3 (20 July on) the library will be open to parents and the general Onewhero community.

• books can be issued and returned via your child’s school bag
• visit the library personally for registration

Calf Club
With the winter comes the start of the Calf Club season. I would like to remind all students and parents that animals (calves, lambs and goats) which are going to be entered into this year’s Calf Cub competition, must be born on or after the 1 July 2009. Animals born earlier than 1 July are not eligible for the competition.

With most of their more experienced players absent, and one player short, the team did very well to lose by only 3-0. Everyone played well and players of the day were:

Pukekohe Netball
Pukekohe Netball run a FUN FERNS evening on Fridays for children aged between 5 and 7 years to learn basic skills. For more information please see the Franklin County News.
Private Tutor
I am available for private tutoring after school and during private study periods. Mr Fenton has indicated that this would be welcomed by the school.
I have an engineering degree from the University of Sheffield so my specialist areas are mathematics and physics. These are the subjects I can initially offer to senior school students.
For primary and middle school students I can offer English, mathematics and science.
I have home-schooled my children for short periods and I have taught English overseas.

Re Immunisation Clinic, Pukekohe Hospital.
During the school holidays the Pukekohe Public Health Nurses are holding an immunisation clinic at the Pukekohe Hospital. This clinic is available to school children who require catch up with their childhood immunisation.
The clinic is to be held on Wednesday 8th July 9.00am-300 pm.
Please bring your Well Child Book with you. This is a drop in clinic - if you have any questions please phone the Public Health Nurse on 237 0660.
