Dear Parents
Open Day
On Thursday 10 September, we are inviting those interested in enrolling at Onewhero in 2010 to come along, have a look around, and to ask the questions you need to ask.
The early part of the day, from 9am to 3pm is designed for those students who are currently in Year 6 in other places. Our own Year 6 students will be hosting the visitors for a day of activities designed to introduce visitors to the way we work here at Onewhero.
From 4pm to 6pm, we are inviting anyone else who might be interested – parents and students from all levels to come along and have a guided tour of the school. Again, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask the questions to need to ask.
Please feel free to pass this message on to others you might know who are interested in attending Onewhero in 2010.
Kopapa
Over the last two or three weeks, students have been asked to express interest in being part of the Kopapa teams for the school. Now is the time to talk specific details with those who have expressed an interested and with their parents.
To continue this process, everyone interested (parents and students) is invited to attend a meeting in Room 9 on Thursday 10 September, starting at 6:00pm.
Calf Club
Entry forms for this year’s Calf Club event are now available. Please collect a form from the office. A separate entry form is required for each animal entered.
Please note that goats are available for purchase from Neal and Teresa Phillips. Please phone 232 8713 if you are interested.
The Calf Club event is on Thursday October 15, starting at 2pm.
There is to be a meeting of the committee in the staffroom on Tuesday 15 September at 7:30pm.

From work being done by Year 8 students
LaLa and the Nurse
Said LaLa to her dad one day
I don't feel very well
And now my throat feels funny too
I think its starting to swell
I'm not sure her father said
But this is what we’ll do
We’ll go and find the nurse and
See what she thinks of you!
The Nurse said “yes I see the spot,
I’ll take the pain away,
I’ll do it at the hospital,
We’d better go today!”
The hospital? Poor LaLa squeaked
But won’t it hurt a lot?
And do I have to go alone
I’d really rather not.
Yes LaLa would be alone
Her dad would not take her there
So in her little case she packed
The nightie she would wear
But when they reached the hospital
Its so scary LaLa thought
I don't think it looks very real
Can’t I go home instead?
Oh Noooo! The Nurse was coming out
Hello LaLa she said
I'm glad to see you, hold my hand
I’ll show you to your bed!
LaLa was perked up on her bed
The room was lightly lit
Nurse stabbed a needle in her arm
It hurt more than a bit
The painful jab made LaLa feel
So tired right about then
She slowly drifted off to sleep
Never to wake again
