Dear Parents

Uniform issues

There are several points to bring to your attention:

1. At a Board of Trustees meeting earlier this year, the decision was taken to make the wearing of hats compulsory for all students from Years 1 to 6. This applies during the summer months and therefore in Terms One and Four, all students in Years 1 to 6 must wear a hat when outside. There are two styles of hat available through the school office.

2. When purchasing a hat, it will be very important to have that hat named. Could parent please make sure that all hats are named at the time they are purchased, and that the names are checked periodically to make sure they are still legible.

3. Naming of all clothing is important, and now that we are coming into the warmer months, when students throughout the school will start discarding outer layers during the day, named clothing makes the task of returning clothing to rightful owners much easier if there is a legible name.

4. With the coming of the warmer months, attention also turns to appropriate footwear. For all students, jandals are not an appropriate form of school footwear and must not be worn to school.

BoT – Student Rep

In the last few weeks, nominations have been called for the position of student representative on the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate is Bryn Jenkins of Year 11. Bryn begins his duties as of the September meeting.

Arts and Culture Night

Students and teachers are currently fine tuning a number of performances that will be part of our upcoming Arts and Culture Night. For this event, interested teachers and students were invited to put together an item that would contribute to an evening of mixed entertainment. Among the performances are a band, dancers, two short plays and the school choir.
