Arts and Culture Night
Remember next week sees the first and only presentation of our school’s Arts and Culture Night. Students and teachers have been working hard to ensure their only performance is a good one.
Among the amazing entertainment on display are two short plays. “Duet for Bear and Dog” explores the relationship that develops between a pampered pet dog and a bear that it has chased up a tree. The second play “Rasta in the Rata’s” includes students from years Four through to Eight. Written by Mr Jordan, this play reveals what happens when a team of loggers on a work for the dole scheme, discover a tree in the New Zealand forest that looks like Bob Marley.
The night also features performances of two original songs. Room 12 will perform their class’s song “We Won’t Forget”. while “The Dreamiest Boy” is a mini rock opera by an as yet unnamed super group. Among the dance items are performances by the funky dance crew Redi Q Lus and students from Rm 8, 12 and 13. Rm 5 also contribute an item as does our school choir. The evening will also include the winners of our school speech contest earlier this year.
The Arts and Culture Night will take place on Thursday the 24th of Sept at 7pm in the school hall. Entry is by gold coin donation.
