Dear Parents

Last Day

We will be closing for the year on Friday December 11th at 12.30pm. Buses will run at this time. The reason for this closure time is to fit in with the Tuakau College bus runs.

Staff

We are farewelling two staff members this year. Joshua McDonald has taught at our school for two terms and has been fully involved in all aspects of life at Onewhero Area School. We wish him well in his new position.

We are also losing Glennis Paton who is retiring after giving our school many years of sterling service. She will be remembered for her fun loving nature and the work she always puts into our school magazine. Glennis will now be able to enjoy her view and catch up on the reading and painting.

2010

The school office will be opening on January 25th 2010 for uniform sales and general enquiries.

Stationery

Stationery can be bought from the school at the beginning of the year at a very reasonable prices.

You are all invited to attend our 2009 Prize giving on Thursday December 10th at 7.00pm in the School Hall. Students are requested to be at the Hall by 6.50pm as they all have to be seated in class groups. Students are to wear full uniform.

Canteen

Please note that the last day the canteen is open for 2009 is Thursday 10th December. There will be limited stock all week so you may not get your first preference but will get something.

Christmas Parade

We entered a float in the Tuakau Christmas Parade and got 1st place in the school section.

Special thanks to James Andrew for the loan of a large truck and also to Kelly Andrew and the Stokes family for their assistance in putting the float together. We were well supported by students who turned up to ride on the float.

Uniform

There are a large number of school uniform pieces, and many pairs of shoes in the lost property box. If you are coming up to the school for any reason please call into the office and check the lost property.

Soccer

A team of year 5 and 6 students went to Te Kohanga school to play a friendly game of soccer. Everyone participated fully and we won 3-1.

Franklin Athletics

Last week we printed a list of students who went to Franklin Athletics ,unfortunately we had a printing mistake. We printed that Lucas Dawson got 2nd Senior Boys Shotput but in fact he got 1st in Senior Boys Shotput.

Classes for 2010
