Dear Parents

Parent Interviews

On Thursday 19 March, we will be hosting the first of our parent interview sessions for 2009.

Could all parents please complete the form on the back of this newsletter and return it to school by Friday 13th March to request a time for an interview. Please note that interviews:

• are for ten minutes each
• start at 3:40pm and go through until 7:30pm
• senior (Yr 11-13) students are required to attend with parents
• please indicate more than one time slot as it is not always possible to give people their first choice.
• Parents will be notified on Tuesday 17th by letter of the time you have been allocated.

Book Club Orders

All orders will close Monday 23 March 2009.

Greenie Awards

At the assembly on Monday the following student name was drawn from the box, and receive a canteen voucher: Jacinta Moana (Year 6, Room 7).

River Group Swimming

The River Group schools met at Onewhero on Tuesday to complete in swimming events in preparation for the Franklin Zone events later in March. The day was very successful, with students competing well and having a great time.

The results were as follows:

10 year Girls:

Alesha Guard: 1st backstroke; 2nd Freestyle; 2nd breaststroke; 2nd Open one length freestyle; 2nd Open two lengths freestyle
Jackie Andrews: 1st breaststroke; 2nd Backstroke; 1st Freestyle; 1st open one length freestyle; 1st open two lengths freestyle

10 year Boys:

Reid Picot: 1st backstroke;2nd freestyle; 3rd breaststroke; 2nd Open one length freestyle; 2nd open two lengths freestyle
Thomas Aston-Brien: 1st Breaststroke; 1st freestyle; 3rd backstroke; 1st open freestyle one length; 1st Open two lengths freestyle
Matthew Henderson: 2nd backstroke

9 year Girls:

Catherine Lussi: 1st freestyle; 1st breaststroke; 3rd backstroke
Kaitlen Stokes: 2nd freestyle
Renata Sawyer: 3rd breaststroke

9 year Boys:

Jayden Turnwald: 3rd breaststroke; 3rd freestyle

8 year and under Girls:

Michaela Hale: 1st freestyle
Briar Salt: 1st backstroke

8 year and under Boys:

Tuhi Pompey: 3rd backstroke; 2nd freestyle

7 year Boys:

Sam McLean: 2nd freestyle

Our junior relay team was placed third. Unfortunately, due to an oversight, our senior relay team did not compete.

These students will go to Waiuku to represent the River Group on Thursday 19 March. More details will go to the students concerned.

NCEA Information Evening

We are hosting an information evening about the NCEA qualification system, and the processes that are involved. This will be held on Thursday 26 March at 7pm, in the Library. All parents are welcome, and it is especially relevant to parents and students in Years 9 to 13.
