Race to save sea casualties
A pod of 14 pilot whales and seven dolphins beached themselves on Waracoopa Beach on King Island in Australia. Rescuers had returned 48 whales and 5 dolphins using jet skis and boats. Scientists are not sure why the whales beach themselves but they think that when one gets sick, the others go to help it.

My Unlucky Day
Eleven year old Cameron Hosking caught a fish at Scott’s Landing one hour north of Auckland. The fish was caught during the holidays in January.
“Last timer I got a bigger fish than this but I am still pleased with myself,” explained Cameron.
Cameron caught the fish on his brand new fishing rod.
He took the fish home and had one fillet for breakfast and then the other for lunch. He said it was nice.

Wanted
Have you got fruit going to waste still hanging on the tree? Do you have an over-grown feijoa hedge or an aged apple orchard; do you ever feel guilty that so many of your lovely, juicy oranges go to waste? If so, contact Mr Mann at the school so that we can arrange to pick your excess fruit. In partnership with local growers, we want to provide free fruit to our students and local community members.
