Dear Parents

Teacher Only Day

The Board of Trustees has granted the school a Teacher only day. This will take place on Friday September 3 and will allow time for the teaching staff to further their own learning with the demands of the National Curriculum, National Standards and the changes that are being implemented to the assessment processes for NCEA. No buses will run this day and there will be no classes at all.

Reminder

I would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents that any concern about anything to do with the school must be addressed in the first instance to the Principal. A direct concern about a matter concerning the teaching and learning of the students in your care may be addressed to the teacher concerned, but other matters should be directed to the Principal.

School Cross country

Names were misspelt in last week’s newsletter and the results for the Year 7 girls should have read:

The links list includes Numeracy, Literacy, Science, Social Sciences, Arts and Technology. There is also a link as to How to Use the School’s Library from Home and links to Current Topics Studied. Once again, this school is displaying student work at the Franklin Arts Festival. The display opens in the Town Hall on September 3 at 7:00pm with the Awards ceremony and will run until the 12th of September, closing at 2:00pm. The Festival is open to the public each day from 10am to 5pm. Our part of the display is well worth a look, featuring the theme of “Franklin” as this year sees the end of that name for our area.
