Dear Parents
Collectable cards
In recent days there has been an increase in the appearance of collectable cards in the school. The most common of these is the Pokemon set. We issued a statement some time ago about these cards not being welcomed in the school. That ban is still in place and therefore I would ask that all parents help us to reinforce this by ensuring that students leave such cards at home.
The issue is not to do with the cards themselves, but with the undesirable activities that are associated with trading such cards.
In the best interests of all students, these cards should be left at home.
Participation
At the assembly this week, the following students were presented with a certificate recognising their participation in school activities:
Lucas Dawson (Yr 9) contributing to the safety and welfare of younger students.
Otis Feehan (Yr 8 Rm 11) contributing to the safety and welfare of younger students.
Bryce Beattie (Yr 8 Rm 12) positive participation in all class activities.
AJ Stephens (Yr 7 Rm 17) participation and organisation during interclass sports competition.
Rachael Hayward (Yr 7 Rm 17) participation and thoughtful consideration of others.
Aimee Rei (Yr 7 Rm 13) full and articulate participation in classroom discussion.
Shanae Marx (Yr 2 Rm 4) participation in all classroom activities.
Logan Channell (Yr 6 Rm 10) making a real effort to participate in all classroom activities.
Greenie Awards
The name drawn from the box this week is William Mooney (Yr 5, Rm 9). William wins a canteen voucher.

Could all netball uniforms please be returned to Mrs McLean, in Room 1. Thank you
Learning Links From Home
A new page on the school’s web site gives helpful links to interactive pages that can be used from home. It is intended as an aid for parents/guardians to help their children with extension work or for students to help themselves. Go to the menu on the school’s web site and click on “Learning Links”.
The links list includes Numeracy, Literacy, Science, Social Sciences, Arts and Technology. There is also a link as to How to Use the School’s Library from Home and links to current Topics Studied.
VCR players, TVs, DVD players etc
If anyone has workable VCR players (or even workable DVD players or TVs) that are surplus to requirements, we’d be delighted to make use of them in the classrooms. If so, please contact the office.

Free Paddock Mate to good home
Bess is a 25 year old 15.2hh SB Mare. Due to her age she is now only suitable for light hacking or as a paddock mate for other horses/ponies. She is barefoot, is up to date with worming, had her teeth done in July and her hooves trimmed this week. She has a very sweet nature and nothing phases her at all. Perfect to float/truck. She is currently been grazed in Tuakau and is in need of a new forever home where she will be treated like a princess. It will be very sad to see her go but she is getting a little old to handle the type of riding that I would like to do. She will come with what ever hard feed she has left as well as her glucosamine and msm supplements. Feel free to contact me for any further information.
