Dear Parents
Welcome back to the start of Term 4. This term is only 9 weeks long and is an extremely busy term for both the staff and students. At the same time we are in full gear planning for 2011.
We have just received Ministry approval to start building our new Junior Learning Centre and new classrooms. We look forward to this as the building progresses.
During last term, we were promoting the value of participation. This term, we are focussing on the value of integrity, in plain language “doing the right thing”.
Starting next week the certificates will be presented to those students who have demonstrated integrity.
Participation
At the assembly at the end of Term 3, the following students were presented with a certificate recognising their participation in school activities:

Teen cancer Support
The school is supporting the CanTeen organisation as part of their national fundraiser. Senior students will be going to Pukekohe on Friday to take part in the Bike Bash, based in the town square in King Street, and the rest of the school is invited to take part through a mufti day. The theme for this one is “Superhero.” All donations will go directly to support the CanTeen project.
Practice Exams
Next week the senior students (from Year 11 to 13) will be starting their practice exams. This is the final round of exams before the final NCEA papers which will be sat in November. This is a chance to find out which parts of each course are the weakest, and which are the strongest so that study programmes can be adjusted and modified. It is also a chance to practice the exam technique which is so important in the forthcoming NCEA papers.
Please note that there is no exam leave at this time. All exams will be held in the morning and for those not involved in an exam, normal classes will be run.
