Integrity Awards

The students identified last week for an Integrity award are:

Christina Carr-Smith (Yr 10). Displaying an honest and open approach to Work Experience.
Zennith Green (Yr 10) Displaying an honest and open approach to Work Experience.
Alysha Rastrick (Yr 10) Displaying an honest and open approach to Work Experience.
Brook Young-Cathcart (Yr 9) Displaying a consistent commitment to her studies.

These certificates were presented at the assembly this week.

Paid Union Meeting

The members of the teaching staff of the school have been called to a Paid Union Meeting non Friday 26 November. This meeting will start at 1:30pm and will last two hours. The buses will run as normal that day (that is at 3pm) but parents are asked to make arrangements to collect students from 1:20pm. The school will endeavour to provide supervision for students who have to stay at school.

Canteen Weekly Special

The special for the week of Monday 22 November to Thursday 25 November is Ham or Salami and Mushroom Pizza cost $3.50

Sale yard duties in November

Earn money towards your child’s school account by working at the sale yard cafe. Shifts are Thursday morning and Thursday afternoon. Contact Helen 2328883.

Message from the Board of Trustees

The BoT would like to inform parents that there has been a change to the school uniform policy. As from February 2011, all students from Yrs 1 – 6 must now wear dark coloured shoes or sandals as part of the OAS uniform. No jandals or boots will be allowed from anyone.

Greenie Award

The winner of the greenie lunch voucher this week was Jordan Stephens (Yr 4 Rm 6).

Scholastic Book Club

Book orders must be in by 26th November.

Calf Club Trophies

Could all students who won trophies at calf club please return them to school so that we can get them engraved.

Swimming Pool

It has come to our attention that people have been accessing the swimming pool. Please note that the pool is currently being treated with chemicals etc and until it is officially opened accessing the facility is extremely dangerous and a severe health hazard.

Year 7 & 8 Jump Jam Team

11 girls from Year 7& 8 have been training hard to represent our school in the Franklin Jump Jam competition which will be held at the BMX International Events Centre, Attwell Road Puni.

Competition starts at 5pm on Friday 19th November. We are performing one song and the competition will be a great spectacle for the audience to enjoy. Please feel free to come along and support us.

Port Waikato Whitebait Fritter Competition – Saturday 27th November at Community Hall

Are you planning on being the 2010 Whitebait Fritter Champion? That’s right – the competition for who cooks the best whitebait fritter in Port Waikato is just around the corner!. Judges this year include His Worship the Mayor Allan Sanson, Dean Sheppard of Monarch Cafe in Pukekohe and Nici Wickes of TV3’s World Kitchen!. Competition cooking starts: 11.00 – 11.30am

Immunisation Programme

Parents of students aged 5 & 6, + parents of year 7 students 2010

An immunisation catch up clinic will be held by the Public Health Nurses at Pukekohe Hospital during January. This clinic is for those students who have missed any of their pre-school immunisations, including the 4 year MMR and DTaP-IPV, and Year 7 students who were absent on the day of vaccination at the school.

Clinic dates are:

- Wednesday 19th January 9.00am-3.00pm
- Tuesday 25th January 9.00am-3.00pm

If these dates are not suitable please phone the Public Health Nurse on 237 0660 to make alternative arrangements as we are flexible during this time.
