Dear Parents
Apologies
Recently, a letter was sent out to all Yr 11, 12 and 13 students reminding them about forthcoming dates. Unfortunately, it contained an error. It should have read that Mrs Carter will be available from Monday 24th January for course confirmation. Please accept our apologies for this error and make the change on your letter.
Prize Giving
The school prize giving will be held in the school hall on Thursday 9th, starting at 7pm. We would appreciate all students being at the hall by 6:45pm so that we can get everyone seated, ready to start on time. All students are expected to be in full and correct uniform. Please note there is a show on that night at OSPA and so parking will be at a premium. We have arranged for folk attending the Prize Giving to park in the lower Rugby Club field. Please watch for our parking attendants.
River Group Athletics
When we recently published the list of winners, we inadvertently missed Angus Ritchie. Our sincere apologies to Angus and his family. Angus was placed 2nd in the 8 yr boys 300m and 3rd in the long jump. Well done, Angus.

PC4G Congratulations
Last Wednesday 28 teams competed in a Programming Challenge for year 10 Girls at MIT. This was the local component of a national competition.
Erin Hancox and Christina Carr-Smith gained a gold medal, and Amelia Spinks, who teamed up with Katherine a student from TeKauwhata College, gained a bronze medal. Rebecca Stokes and Rose Patrick, who also participated very well, say they enjoyed the day immensely. Thanks girls for representing OAS so well.
Library Amnesty Time
This is an appropriate time to check bookshelves and study desks and look under beds for any school library books. We welcome them back and no questions will be asked. Books can be dropped off at the school office.
AFS Exchange
The AFS organisation is seeking a host family for an exchange student arriving in NZ at the end of January for a six month stay. Daniel is 15 years old, comes from Germany and is a keen footballer. Anyone interested in embarking on the very worthwhile experience of hosting a student is invited to ring the school and speak to Mr Rowe.
